Privacy policy
Introduction
This policy explains what information Noise Remover & Voice Cleaner ("the app") handles and where it goes. The app is made by Winton Gee ("we" or "us"). In short: your recordings never leave your iPhone. The noise is removed on the device, and there is no account, no upload and no server of ours. The only data that leaves the iPhone is purchase information for Pro, handled by Apple and RevenueCat under an anonymous identifier.
Information stored on your iPhone
The app keeps the following on your iPhone. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.
- The recording you are working on: a working copy of the video or audio file you open, and its clean sound, in the app's temporary storage. The app deletes them when you close the recording, and removes any left over the next time it opens.
- Clean copies you save: saved where you choose: videos to your Photos library and audio files to the place you pick in Files. They are yours, and the app keeps no other copy.
- Pro status: whether Pro is active, cached so the app opens unlocked.
- Save count: how many saves have finished, so the app asks for a rating once, after the second save.
Photos and files
The app opens only the video you pick in the system photo picker, or the file you pick in Files. It cannot see the rest of your photo library or your other files. To save a clean video, it asks once for permission to add to Photos, which lets it add new items without seeing the ones already there.
App Store privacy details
The app's privacy details on the App Store list one data type: Purchase History, collected for App Functionality and Analytics, not linked to your identity and not used to track you. It is the purchase information RevenueCat receives, described below. Your recordings are not collected.
Purchases
Pro is sold through the App Store. These are the only third parties that receive data from the app, and only purchase information.
Apple sells Pro through the App Store and processes the payment. We never receive your payment details. Apple receives:
- Your purchase, under your Apple Account
The app does not send your recordings or clean copies to Apple. For how Apple handles data, see its privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
The app uses RevenueCat to confirm purchases and to check whether Pro is active, including when the app opens. RevenueCat also gives us purchase statistics, such as how many people bought Pro, which never identify you. RevenueCat receives:
- Your purchase history and subscription status for this app
- An anonymous identifier the app creates on your device, which is not linked to your name or email
RevenueCat processes this data as our service provider and provides the same or equal protection of your data as this policy describes.
RevenueCat does not receive your recordings, clean copies or anything about what you record. For how RevenueCat handles data, see its privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
Information we do not collect
- No account or sign-in
- No upload: your recordings and clean copies stay on your iPhone unless you share them
- No server of ours: nothing is sent to us
- No tracking, and no analytics of your recordings or of how you use the app
- No advertising, and no data is ever sold
- No microphone: the app never records, it cleans recordings you already have
- No access to the rest of your photo library, your contacts or your location
Keeping and deleting your data
- Recordings: the app keeps no library of your recordings. Working copies are deleted when you close a recording, and deleting the app removes anything it stored.
- Clean copies: they are in Photos or Files, where you saved them. Delete them there like any other video or file.
- Purchase history: your purchase record with Apple and RevenueCat is tied to your Apple Account and stays after you delete the app, so you can restore Pro later. Purchase records are kept as long as needed to provide and restore Pro and to meet legal and accounting obligations, and RevenueCat records are deleted on request to us.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you think a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
