Help with Noise Remover & Voice Cleaner

Getting started

Clean a recording

  1. Open the app. On your iPhone it is called Remove Noise.
  2. Tap Choose a video to pick one from your library, or Choose an audio file to pick one from Files.
  3. The app removes the noise on your iPhone, then plays the result. Tap Original and Clean to compare.
  4. Tap Save clean copy. Videos are saved to Photos and audio files to the place you pick in Files.

The home screen has a sample street recording. Play it to hear what the app does before you choose one of your own.

Noise Remover & Voice Cleaner is coming soon to the App Store.

What you can clean

Videos

Any video in your Photos library, including screen recordings and clips saved from other apps. The picture is passed through as it was recorded; only the sound is replaced.

Audio files and voice memos

Audio files in m4a, mp3, wav, aac, caf and aiff, and voice memos, including layered ones. To clean a voice memo, tap it in Voice Memos, tap the More Actions button, tap Share, then tap Save to Files. Then choose it in the app with Choose an audio file. Step by step help is in the voice memo guide.

What it removes

Everything that is not speech: traffic, wind, fans, crowds and room noise. It removes music and singing too, so it is not for cleaning up songs. It works best on recordings of people talking.

Saving a clean copy

Every save is a new copy. Your original stays as it is.

  • Videos are saved to Photos. The first time, the app asks for permission to add to Photos; it cannot see your other photos.
  • Audio files are saved to Files, in the place you pick, as m4a.
  • Share sends the clean copy straight from the done screen.

If you leave the app during a long save, it keeps going in the background where iOS allows it, and iOS shows its progress.

Free saves include the first 30 seconds of the recording, with no watermark. Before a free save starts, the app shows the recording's length and offers Pro to save the full length.

Pro and purchases

Free and Pro

Previews are free at any length, and the first 30 seconds of every save are free, with no watermark and no limit on saves. Pro saves the full length of any recording.

  • Pro Lifetime: $17.99 once, never renews
  • Pro Monthly: $5.99 a month, renews automatically unless cancelled

Prices are in US dollars and vary by country or region. There is no free trial; the free version is the way to try it.

Restore a purchase

On a new iPhone, or after reinstalling the app, open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy Pro.

If a purchase says it is waiting for approval, it needs a parent or guardian to approve it through Ask to Buy. Pro turns on once it is approved.

Cancel the subscription

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.
  3. Choose Noise Remover & Voice Cleaner, then tap Cancel Subscription.
  4. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next charge.

Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase, so there is nothing to cancel.

Refunds

Apple processes every purchase. To request a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com (opens in a new tab) and sign in with your Apple Account.

Data and privacy

The noise is removed on your iPhone, and your recordings are never uploaded. There is no account and no server of ours. The app keeps no library of your recordings: working copies are deleted when you close a recording, and clean copies are in Photos or Files, where you saved them. Details are in the privacy policy.

Troubleshooting

The music is gone from my video

That is expected. The app keeps the voice and removes everything else, music included. Keep the original if you want the music.

The clean copy is only 30 seconds long

Free saves include the first 30 seconds. Pro saves the full length; buy it from the save screen or from Settings in the app, then save again.

Saving to Photos is off

The app does not have permission to add to Photos. Tap Open Settings in the app and allow Add Photos Only, or tap Share to send the clean copy another way.

This file has no sound we can read

The file is not a format the app can open, or it has no sound. Try a video from Photos or an m4a, mp3, wav, aac, caf or aiff file. For a voice memo, share it to Files from Voice Memos first.

Not enough space to save

The app shows how much free space the copy needs. Free up space in Settings > General > iPhone Storage, then try again.

The voice sounds thin or uneven

The voice may be far from the microphone or buried in loud noise. Compare Original and Clean in the preview before you save; if the original sounds better, keep it.

Pro is not active after buying

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases while signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy.
